In the Great Race of Oban (an intergalactic race held by a being called the Avatar, whose victor can be granted any wish in the world), Aikka was selected as the racer to represent the planet Nourasia. He is extremely skilled in martial arts, archery and fencing, as well as being the prince of Nourasia. And, unlike most of the other contestants in the Race, Aikka's 'ship' is not mechanical in the least, but a gigantic flying blue and white beetle with strange markings (that sometimes glow). The beetle - Gidon - is very loyal to Aikka, thus making them a formidable racing team.

Aikka has the normal characteristics of royalty; he's extremely polite and honourable - to the point of chivalrous. At times he can be a little snobbish with people he doesn't know very well, though he normally doesn't notice the tendency, it simply coming from how he was brought up.

He's also got some magical abilities (the show says that he's 'gifted', so it's insinuated that not all Nourasians can do this). Most often they're used to charge his arrows up, making them stronger and more accurate (they glow blue, too!). In order to use this magic, he has to chant a few words in Nourasian.

Despite being rivals, Aikka is good friends with Molly. And, it is unknown what exactly Aikka wants to ask the Avatar for. Before arriving on the island, he was eating breakfast one of the tavern-places near the pit area.
